Dorothy M. Reichmuth, 91, of Overland Park, KS, on Monday, March 30, 2026, passed away peacefully at Brookdale Senior Living, with family after receiving her Last Rites. Those who knew her will always remember her playful personality and strong will, which remained even into her final hours.

A Rosary will be prayed at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 13615 W. 92nd St, Lenexa, KS.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Alzheimer's Association

Dorothy was born the youngest of 9 children on December 5, 1934, in Casper, WY, to John Joseph (Jack) and Margaret Shea Sullivan, who had migrated previously from County Cork, Ireland.  Her Irish heritage was always an important component of her life.   She graduated from Natrona High School in 1952, and spent the next six years living life to the fullest in Wyoming—  enjoying nights out with friends, Frontier Days in nearby Cheyenne, and administration work for Sohio Oil.   She especially enjoyed her time with her older twin brothers, Gene and Gerry, who later accepted the call to serve Wyoming as priests.

One year while at Frontier Days, Dorothy met her true love, Quentin, whom she married on August 30, 1958.  They shared sixty years of joyful marriage until Quentin’s passing in 2019.  During their sixty years together, Dorothy raised four boys, making countless trips in their pop-up camper, playing all sorts of card games with friends and family, hosting backyard cookouts and activities, golfing, dancing, trying her luck with the slots, and traveling internationally.  Dorothy developed a passion for political news and was always ready to share her thoughts and insights with those around her.

"Dorothy began her married life in Omaha, NE, where she and Quentin started their family.   They later moved to Salina, KS and then to Lincoln, NE where they emptied their nest.  While in Lincoln, she worked for 16 years as a school nurse.  In time, Dorothy and Quentin moved to Overland Park, KS to be closer to their boys and families.  Throughout her life and travels, two pillars stood at the center of who she was---her Irish heritage and her Catholic faith."

Dorothy’s life was a testimony to her faith, love of family, and joyful spirit.  Nothing brought her more happiness than time spent with family.

She is survived by her four sons and their wives; Kevin (Kim), Lewis Center, OH; Todd (Dana), Olathe, KS; Gary (Kimberly), Plano, TX; and Joe (Lorrie), Belton, MO;  She took great joy in her nine grandchildren: Megan (Jimmy), Patrick, Libby (Michael), Tim (Hailey), Jen, Nate, Matt, Cade, and Callie… and her 5 great grandchildren Cozette, Scarlett, Aiden, Parker, and Elijah.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Margaret Sullivan; three brothers, Jackie, Gene, and Gerry; and five sisters, Mary Sinadin, Terry Berquist, June Becker, Ann Diehl, and Betty Adams.

The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, therapists, and caregivers who provided compassionate and loving care during her illness.
