Donald L. Allen, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away November 29, 2024 at the age of 86. He spent his life dedicated to family, community, education, music, and the arts. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Marie Allen. 

Don grew up in Atlantic, IA, a proud graduate of the University of Iowa, class of 1961, and was a veteran. He was a passionate supporter of higher education, loved the Hawkeyes, Jayhawks, Wildcats, and was a longtime member of Cure of Ars Catholic Church in Leawood, KS.

Throughout his life, Don gave back to the community. He coached baseball and soccer, actively volunteered in Boy Scouts, camping with each of his sons and grandsons, as well as other volunteer organizations. He traveled to all 50 states and explored over 30 countries. Don loved music, theater, and crossword puzzles, always finding joy in solving challenges.

Donald’s professional career spanned 40+ years in the insurance industry and he was known for his dedication and leadership. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his two sons, David and Jeffrey (Kathy); five grandchildren, Joshua (Emily), Benjamin, Ivy, Nathan, and Gabriel; his brother, David (Trisha); and many cherished nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, with Mass at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 12th at Cure of Ars Catholic Church in Leawood, KS.
