Dennis Edward Browne, 72, of Kansas City, KS, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, after a quick but valiant fight with pancreatic cancer.
Born and raised in Kansas City, KS, Dennis spent his life rooted in the community he loved. He dedicated 45 years of hard work and loyalty to Rensenhouse as an industrial salesman. He built not just a career, but lifelong friendships.
Dennis was a man of joy and humor, known for his memorable stories, endless jokes and charisma. He had a passion for life’s simple pleasures-working in his pristine yard, going for bike rides, cheering on the Jayhawks, celebrating his proud Irish Catholic heritage, traveling the world, firing up the grill and cracking open a Coors Banquet at a good party. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandkids.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, J Louis and Marge Browne, his sister Terry Heffron, and his brother, J. Louis Browne, Jr.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Nancy Browne, and their three sons: Ryan (Alli) Browne, Adam Browne, and Mark (Erica) Browne. He also leaves behind four grandchildren-MJ, Maeve, Keely and Fallon-who brought him endless pride and joy.
Dennis’ spirit will live on in the stories shared, the flowers blooming in the spring, the games watched together and tailgates attended, and the deep love of family he held above all else.
The family would like to express tremendous gratitude to the many doctors and staff at the University of Kansas Health System and the St. Luke’s Hospice House for their tremendous and compassionate care. They would suggest contributions be made to Children’s Mercy Autism Clinic or St. Luke’s Hospice House.
The visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, May 19 at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 20 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas.
