Coleen Michelle Moore, 63, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on August 26, 2026.
A KU graduate in Occupational Therapy. She worked for 20 years for the Great Bend school district.
A devoted occupational therapist, Coleen spent her career working to serve others, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life. She lived and worked in Great Bend for most of her adult life, where she was known for her compassion, quiet strength, and steadfast dedication to those in her care.
Coleen took great pride in her family and loved sharing stories with those around her. A natural jokester, she brought laughter to many moments. She also delighted in collecting teapots a simple pleasure that reflected her warm and welcoming spirit. Her beloved cats, who shared her home for much of her adult life, were a constant source of companionship and joy; they now wait for her in heaven.
A devout Catholic, Coleen’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She found comfort and purpose in her beliefs and lived them with sincerity and grace.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, friend, and coworker. Coleen is survived by her daughter, Kaitlyn, who was the light of her life, along with many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her brothers George, Brian, Raymond, and James Lee; her sister Carolyn; and other family members.
A visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 pm on Monday, August 31st at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 7023 W. 71st Street, Overland Park, KS.
Coleen will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her professional care for others, her deep faith, her sense of humor, and the quiet happiness she found in family, tea parties, and the company of her beloved cats.
