On September 5, 2026, Cecilia Ellen Moore parted this world to a far green country under a swift sunrise, where she was welcomed by her mother, father, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She passed surrounded by those she loved who helped her transition into the next portion of her journey. 

While she enjoyed traveling and taking cruises with her husband, Larry, she spent her life in Shawnee and worked for 20 years for Johnson County. She raised two sons and was step-mother to a third, and adored her four grandchildren, all of whom she will continue to watch over as she waits for them to join her. 

She leaves behind a legacy of flamingos, nails, cooking, and a generous spirit. An avid reader, she passed down her love of books to her children. She also loved to crochet, carefully crafting blankets and scarves for those she loved. Her love of tradition led her to wonderful turkey on Thanksgiving, and biscuits and gravy on Christmas morning. She loved all nature of animals, caring for birds and fish; loving the livestock at state fairs; but above all she loved flamingos. 

Her legacy will be carried on by her husband, Larry; her sons, Sean, Matt, and Sam, and daughters-in-law, Angie, Ren, and Johni; and her grandchildren, Jackson, Jace, Fitz, and Ginny. She is also survived by her sister Bekki and her husband, George; her brother Spence and his wife, Jean; her brother Matt; her sister Tracy and her husband, Dale; and her brother Mark and his wife, Kathy, along with her numerous nieces and nephews, who will all carry on her memory through stories. 

She was loved by many people, and will continue on through so many memories, while she patiently waits to carry those she left behind onto the path home. 

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Susan G Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.   Visitation will be 3:00 pm with a Memorial Service at 4:00 pm at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS on Friday, September 11, 2026.
