Carroll Dean Haverkamp, 73, Shawnee, KS passed away Sunday March 30, 2025 at Upendo House. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 3, at Hope Lutheran Church, 6308 Quivira Rd, Shawnee, KS, with visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, 23215 West 75 St., Shawnee, KS 66227.

Carroll was born April 11, 1951, in Atwood KS the son of Clarence and Mildred Haverkamp. He graduated from Hugoton High School in 1969. He attended Kansas State University where he received bachelors degrees in biology and accounting. He studied marine biology briefly at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He started his professional career as an accountant for Arthur Anderson & Co. to meet his requirement to be a CPA. He served as the treasurer of Armed Forces Insurance in Leavenworth, KS from 1980 to his retirement in 2011.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Jennifer Lynn. Carroll is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ilene J (Andrewson) Haverkamp, three children, Michael and Laura Haverkamp (Katie) of Shawnee, John Haverkamp of Edgerton, Lori and Christopher Fernandez (Kira) of Albuquerque, NM, brothers Delton Haverkamp (Sydney) of Altadena, CA and Bryce Haverkamp of Garden City, KS.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (lbda.org) or the KU Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.
