May 07, 1950---Jun 14, 2026

Calixto "Toto" Elizondo left behind a lifetime of memories when he was called home on June 14, 2026, at the age of 76.  Born in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Toto was the beloved son of Calixto Elizondo Sr. and Jacinta Elizondo Cantu. At the age of 19, he began his life in Kansas City, settling in the Argentine area, where he built a life rooted in hard work, family, and friendship. He later retired after more than 30 years of service with the Unified Government of Wyandotte County Street Division.

Calixto, known to everyone as Toto, Gramps, El Viej6n, and the patriarch of our family, was an all-around great but simple man. You would often find him in an old pair of jeans and a T-shirt. He wasn't fancy, but he always believed in working hard and would often say, "You can have whatever you want if you work hard for it."

Toto enjoyed the simple things in life. His mornings usually started with a cup of coffee from QuikTrip and a stop to buy his daily lottery tickets. He loved watching the Kansas City Royals while enjoying a cold beer and spending time with the people he loved most. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and never expected anything in return. That's just who he was. Any one of us could call him, and he would be there in a heartbeat.

His heart stretched from Kansas City to Texas, where he frequently traveled to spend time with family. Family was his world, and he was blessed with a large one.  that brought him endless joy and pride.

He leaves behind his children: Angelica Talamantes Elizondo (Polo), Stephanie Mejia (Genaro), Michelle Elizondo, Calixto Elizondo III (Sandra), He was a proud grandfather to 21 grandchildren and a great grandfather to 32 great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in his heart.  He is also survived by his siblings Rosalinda Elizondo, Yolanda De Leon (Noe) Edelmiro Elizondo (Alma), and Edgar Elizondo. He was preceded in death by his parents Calixto Elizondo Sr. and Jacinta Elizondo Cantu his sister, Delia Serna and his beloved Great grandson, Giuliani Calderon. Toto will be missed tremendously by many, but he has left an imprint on all who had the great pleasure of calling him Dad, Brother, Son, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Uncle, and Friend. His family will forever remember the smell of his cologne, the coffee cup in his hand, his lottery ticket in his pocket, and the unconditional love he gave so freely.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the countless lives he touched.  Forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.

Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 PM on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS.  Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM, Monday, June 22 at All Saints Catholic Church, 801 Vermont, Kansas City, KS.
