Brenda Faye Elliott, 77, passed from this life on April 1, 2026, in Kansas City, Kan., where she lived most of her life. Brenda was born Jan. 13, 1949, in Maryville, Mo., to William and Evelyn Elliott. She spent her childhood years in the Rosedale district of Kansas City, Kan., with her parents, two younger brothers and a younger sister. Brenda graduated in 1967 from Rosedale High School and earned her R.N. nursing diploma through studies at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Kansas City, Kan. She also obtained a bachelor’s degree from Pittsburg State College in southeast Kansas. Brenda worked at St. Margaret’s and at Providence Hospital, among other medical care institutions. Later in her career, she taught nursing classes for many years at what is now Kansas City Kansas Community College. Her final nursing position was in the infirmary at the Lansing Correctional Facility. Brenda enjoyed family and friends, her dogs and cats, Christian fellowship and traveling with friends. Survivors include brothers Gary, of Overland Park, Kan., (wife Linda) and Greg of Overland Park (wife Elaine) and her sister, Donna, of Kansas City, Kan.
The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave. in Kansas City, Kan.
