Barbara A. Morris, 86, of Kansas City, KS, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. The visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. with the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave. Kansas City, KS. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Barbara was born February 20, 1938, in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Arnold and Edna (Smith) Langford. The family moved from Canton-Peoria in the mid 1940’s, settling in Kansas City, KS. She was married to Kenny Grable, Bob Brown, Jerry Brown and Monty Morris. She worked for Waddell & Reed and Horn Transportation. She owned the Pastime Club and the Stardust Club for many years where she served great food and provided equally great entertainment such as Elvis and Neil Diamond impersonators, and variety shows. She also was involved in the operation of Don’t Worry About it Country Private Club and The Ace of Clubs.She also was proud to own and operate Westheight Coffee Shop for a few years. Barbara loved Elvis Pressley, George Jones, Len Dawson, Jimmy Johnson, and Tom Brady with all her heart at various times in her life!
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Bill Langford and Bobby Johns, her sister and best friend Frances Patrick, her husband Monty Morris, and finally the father of her children and first husband Kenny Grable, and her Auntie Barb.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Linda Grable Stephen, daughter Dodi Grable Leonard (Leonard), granddaughter, Barbie Stephen Courtney (Spencer), grandson Edward Carl Milberger, III, granddaughter Ashley Grable Milberger, great granddaughter Harper Lee Courtney and great grandson Hudson Liam Courtney. And bonus family includes granddaughter Jenn Leonard and her daughter Teagen.
