Barbara (Bobbie) Jean (Frazer) Patterson was born May 2, 1929, to Ralph and Dora Frazer in Pratt County, Kansas. Bobbi began school in St. John, Kansas but moved to Garden City, Kansas where she graduated in 1947. She was attending nurses training at St. Catherine Hospital when she met and married Virgel Ray Patterson on October 17, 1948. To this union was born 3 children, Cheryl, Janice, and Clark. They resided on a farm north of Kendall, KS. Bobbi loved attending all of her children’s music, 4-H, and ballgame activities.
In 1976, Bobbi and Virgel moved to Mountain Grove, MO, where they owned an RV park and campground. She and Virgel enjoyed taking trips to see the fall foliage and fishing in Missouri’s many lakes. After Virgel’s passing in 1980, Bobbi moved to a house in town and began wood crafting and oil painting. In 2009, Bobbi moved to Shawnee, Kansas, and became a member of Lenexa Baptist Church.
Her earlier years in Shawnee were spent painting, taking short trips with her daughter Janice, finding arcades to play skee-ball, and being close to family and friends. Her son Clark, and daughter-in-law, Norma, also took her on trips and she also would stay with them for a visit. Her time at her residence at Wyndham Place Senior Apartments was filled with walking the hallways singing old hymns, praying for the residents, playing Bingo, and singing karaoke. Her real love was God, Bible learning, and discussing scripture.
She was preceded in death by husband Virgel, daughter Cheryl, parents Ralph and Dora Frazer, sister Betty Woodward, 2 brothers, Edwin (Jack) and Robert (Bob) Frazer. She is survived by daughter, Janice (Dana) Lewis, son, Clark (Norma) Patterson, and 3 grandchildren, Scott Laney, Christopher and Devin Lewis, and 4 great-grandchildren, Simon and Eliot Laney, and Olive and Evie Lewis
