May 08, 1968---May 27, 2023

Andrew “Andy” Paul Dvorsky, 55, passed away Saturday, May 27th, 2023. Andy was born the youngest of three boys to Gerard and Nancy Brown Dvorsky in Kansas City, Missouri on May 8th, 1968.

Andy was a beloved father, uncle, friend, and mentor. He grew up in Overland Park with fond memories of his older brothers and a neighborhood full of friends. He graduated from high school in 1986 and took a position where he eventually learned his lifelong trade. Andy became a well renowned field service technician for Kluge machines.

There was nothing Andy could not do, figure out, or fix. If you needed Andy, he was there no matter what, no matter when, no questions asked. Andy was the best father and uncle. If you needed your oil changed or brakes replaced, it was done. If you needed a flight, he got you one. If you moved across the country, he was going too. In true dad fashion, you were guaranteed unsolicited advice, sound or not.

Andy never met a stranger. Whether you knew him for a month or 50 years, you could call him a friend. We were all so fortunate to have lived on Andy’s time.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his daughter, Carley Dvorsky, his sons George Andrew Dvorsky (Drew) and Brooks William Dvorsky (Will), his former wife, Suzanne Dvorsky, his brothers Garret Dvorsky (Cindy) and Christopher Dvorsky, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Porter Funeral Home located at 8535 Monrovia St, Lenexa, KS 66215 on Saturday June 3rd, 2023 from 1PM to 3PM. A Celebration of Life to follow at Frank Craven’s -  5060 W 194th Terrace, Stilwell, Kansas 66085 from 4PM to 6PM. Food will be provided - please bring a chair and beverage of your choice.

To Carley, Drew and Will…my deepest sympathy and condolences to you. Your dad was a great man and his loyalty and dedication to you all was something to be admired. I knew Andrew Paul ever since I can remember…he was always there underfoot teasing us and was full of mischief. He was my kid sisters age and back then he was just one of the kids younger than me on the block. I was actually friends with Chris but after High School I actually became closer to AP. Everything about him in the Obituary is exactly true. I could be working on my car or the garden…whatever…on 93rd St and I’d turn around and he’d be there to lend a hand or advice…or a tool or the Gravely tractor…whatever he had. He was such a great guy. He was especially a good friend to my sister which was nice. RIP Andy

My prayers and condolences are with his family and friends. We go way back to high school, and here about a year ago re-acquainted ourselves helping a common friend move. He was there, when many were not. What a great person he will be remembered as. May God be with you now.

My deepest condolences to all the family and friends of Andy. I met Andy many many years ago when I was introduced to him by a boyfriend who was in the group of friends called the Metcalf Cruisers. I also remember camping out with the group of friends on Andy's Family Farm with a bonfire and fireworks! Although it was only a weekend, it left fun memories of a lifetime! I'm so glad I was blessed to have met and spent time with such a caring, sweet and funny special guy like Andy. I am deeply saddened by his loss and will always cherish the memories I have of him! Rest In Peace my friend Mickey Linder ( Metcalf Cruisers)

Mr. Andrew, Was such a sweet man, he was always full of energy and adventure. I met him through my Uncle Ken of Sunflower Pharmacy, and he would always come in with a smile on his face and was ready for whatever adventure or plans he and my Uncle were going to get into. Such a great spirit and soul of a man, I was blessed to know him. I will be keeping Mr. Andrew and his family in my prayers.

Carley, Drew, Will and Suzy I am so sorry for your loss. I was just talking about him a few weeks ago to Charles, we were reminiscing about the neighborhood on 87th Street and I told him about how Andy stopped, it might have been the second time I ever saw him, when he saw me in the parking lot of Louisburg Square trying to get my bulb in my headlight. He whipped in knew me and offered to install it for me. He said ‘with these bulbs you can’t touch them with your fingers.’ As I thanked him he told me anytime and said I knew where to find him. Andy was a good man and had good intentions. I know he loved you kids like crazy. I was blessed getting to call him my cousin. Love you all always and forever, Cousin Cathy

Carley, Will and Drew - I was so very sad to hear of your dad's passing. Maybe you already know this, but I would have never met Frank and our 2 boys wouldn't exist if it wasn't for your dad, because he introduced us to each other many years ago. For that, I am forever grateful. He was a special person and one of a kind. Holding you in my prayers.

I didn’t get the chance to tell you one last time how truly grateful I am for all of the nice things that you did for me and others. I knew that if I even mentioned something that needed repaired you would come back to fix it and wouldn’t accept money. If the job required extra help, you would bring one or more of your three children to help out. You told me so many times how proud you were of them. You had every reason to be proud of them. They are certainly extremely hard working young people. Your last week, you did what you did best, helping friends who needed you. Another fond memory is of you picking up trash as you would walk through a parking lot. I know you did that as you walked along beaches too. I will try to carry on that practice as a tribute to your legacy. I keep telling myself something I read from Dr Seuss, of all people. Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened. Again, thank you for all of the nice things that you did for me over the years. My condolences to Suzanne, Carley, Drew and Will. RIP my friend.
