Oct 15, 1960---Nov 22, 2024

Joanne Roberta (Ditzler) Dedrick passed away at home November 22, 2024, surrounded by loving family and friends, after an oh-so-Joanne valiant journey with brain cancer. Joanne was born on October 15, 1960, in Kansas City, MO to Catherine (Kitty) and Jack Ditzler, the third of four daughters, and grew up in Overland Park, KS.

Joanne lived a life full of love, creativity, and devotion.

Joanne's favorite career (other than Mom & Grandma) fully utilized her extraordinary culinary artistry as owner of "Heavenly Treats”, where she baked with passion and precision. Her creations were not only a feast for the eyes, but a delight for the palate, filled with love and grace that resonated in every cake, cookie, chocolate treat, and all manner of sweet delights.

Her nurturing spirit extended beyond the kitchen as she shared her heart with children at the Early Education Center at Prince of Peace parish. Joanne was a natural teacher who touched young lives with kindness and patience.

An avid photographer, Joanne was often found behind the camera, capturing precious moments that will carry her memory forward. Her love for photography ensured that, while she may not appear in every picture, her presence is felt in countless cherished memories.

Joanne's lifelong journey in faith began at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic School, and continued through her education at Bishop Miege High School and Benedictine College.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Kitty and Jack Ditzler, and youngest sister, Denise Ditzler. Joanne is survived by her husband, Kenneth (Joe) Dedrick, sons Neil Eichholz (Rebecca) and Drew Eichholz, daughter Hope Dedrick, stepdaughter Jodi (Dedrick) Wolverton (Curtis), stepson Shawn Dedrick, and four beloved grandchildren, Charles Eichholz, Adelaide Eichholz, Kassandra Wolverton, and Michael Wolverton. She also leaves behind her sisters, Jackie Ditzler and Mary Charles (Brent), along with cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and four very spoiled puppies.

To ensure that your gift stays local, please write a check (payable to “Alzheimer’s Association”) and utilize envelopes available at the church at services or mail to: Alzheimer’s Association, 8001 Conser, Suite 240, Overland Park, KS 66204. **Please note on check: “in memory of Joanne Dedrick.”

Memorials may also be made online at jp2kc.org to the Witness to Hope Capital Campaign (building fund) for St. John Paul II Parish in Olathe. Note “in memory of Joanne Dedrick” in Memo field.

Joanne will be remembered for her generous spirit (she was gift giver extraordinaire), her artistic talents, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her.

Joanne, We love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck!

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
