She was the sweetest person I knew. She was so knowledgeable abt baseball and would help any kid that asked. Her and Tom was very special to me and my boys. This shocks me. My prayers and love go out to the family and Tom

We are all so sad to hear this news. Paula was such a bright spot in our lives and we still regularly talked about her. My boys will always remember the time Jackson asked her what his signing bonus was, and the next week she had a Taco Bell gift card for them simply because they had asked their agent about a bonus.

Our family was part of the Urquhart organization several years back. AJ loved going to lessons. He would always be quiet in the office and Paula would always tease him. Paula's guidance was just as important as Tom's lessons in developing the player and adult AJ eventually became. Losing Paula is going to leave a hole in so many lives.

My deepest condolences to the Urquhart Family. Paula was a great lady and an extra Mom to my son while he played and trained under Tom. Prayers for comfort to all who were touched by her friendship.

I remember Paula from high school, I was a student at Wyandotte and her husband Tom was the varsity coach. What stands out to me was her unwaivering support of the school, the students .. Well really anyone she was around. She was a champion for school spirit at a time when Wyandotte needed it most. I'll always remember her kindness and for honestly caring about me and everyone.

I meet Paula when I started taking pitching lessons in 1999 from Tom at Mac-N-Seitz baseball. After college I started to work for her at the academy. She would always joke that she was my second mom and always felt that way. Even after I moved away from Kansas City and started my college coaching career she would always check in with me. Her and Tom were always a big part of my life and she will be missed by everyone that knew her.

Paula was the best! We remember coming in and signing our first contract for select ball. Every night when we came in for lessons we talked about sports, games that were on, the local baseball scene and skills that needed to be worked on. She always had a smile on her face and loved working with kids. In all of our conversations you could tell she shared the passion for baseball and making players better. The little ones loved coming in and getting suckers from Paula while their big brother worked at getting better. Paula’s smile and laugh will be missed. She was larger than life and full of life lessons. So sorry for your loss.

Paula is the sole reason my son is where he is as a baseball player. He had only been pitching for 1 year when we tried out for Urquhart Baseball at 13U. Her and Tom saw something in him and she called me 5 minutes after we left and said they wanted him. That personal connection sealed the deal! After that, she was ALWAYS there. An ear to gripe to, a mentor to listen to, and a shoulder to cry on! We were devastated to hear of Paula's passing and only hope we can do her legacy proud!

It is difficult to know where to start. Countless conversations on the couch, and mostly about something other than baseball. How about the time she first told me she had worked for the FBI! She then said "That's right baby. I know people. Don't mess with me." Mostly I remember how she took us in and treated us like family. Paula really had a way of making you feel special. She will forever be missed.

From the first time I met Paula, I knew she was special. She had that twinkle in her eye that says, "Yeah, let's!" I was never in her presence that I didn't feel special. She was warm, wonderful and absolutely amazing. I'm sure God put her here as a special gift to the planet. When you see the stars blinking, you can be sure she is somewhere smiling on us.
