Caroline Soule Hopkins was born July 18, 1936 in Kansas City, MO, to Howard and Olive Soule. She spent her early years in Kansas City, Kansas. Following her graduation from Wyandotte High School, she attended Kansas City Kansas Junior College for one year, then finished her degree in education at Emporia State University, where she met Charles.
Caroline and Charles were married on November 26, 1958. Caroline taught three years at Roosevelt Elementary School before staying at home to raise their three children.
Caroline was active in the Valley View United Methodist Church Circle, enjoyed doing volunteer work at church, reading, and playing bridge. She was a huge Chiefs fan and attended Superbowl IV (1970) to witness the Chiefs’ first Superbowl victory! She was also always the number one fan at all of her children’s and grandchildren’s sports and activities.
Many of Caroline’s favorite memories were made at their Lake of the Ozarks timeshare condo – where family and friends were always welcome to join them!
Caroline and Charles have enjoyed their later golden years at the Santa Marta retirement community since July, 2017. They have made many new friends with whom they’ve shared many conversations, meals, and games of bridge.
Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Olive Soule, and her brother, Edward Soule.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles; children Carl (Terri) Hopkins, Craig Hopkins, Cheryl (Tim) Coltvet; grandchildren Kristen (Drew) Peterson, Andrea Hopkins (Kaleb Fehlman), Sophie Coltvet, Tess Coltvet; and sister-in-law Judy (Stuenkel) Soule.
