Daniel Edward Goode, 81, passed away at home on May 14th, 2023.
Dan was born September 3rd, 1941 to Freda and Frank Goode, one of 11 children. Dan attended Saint Joseph Grade School and High School. He later served our country in the National Guard. Dan was a lifelong Shawnee resident and served his local community as co-owner of Goode Brothers, Inc in Shawnee for 55 years. Dan appreciated the family with whom he partnered and worked, and all the friends he made along the way.
Dan Goode lived each day full of meaning and purpose. His vibrant spirit for life surfaced often through his absolute love for singing, frying chicken, gardening, and having fun. He was kind-hearted and trustworthy and he loved his siblings, nephews and nieces. Family was consistently a priority for him and his time was his gift to all of us. His laughter and smile were contagious and he touched many lives in the community with his compassion and generosity. His sense of loyalty and integrity will live on through his family. Dan was a beloved brother and uncle whom we will miss deeply and hold forever in our hearts. Heaven gained an alto/tenor this week who is already harmonizing with the angels.
Dan was preceded in death by his brother Frank Goode, sister-in-law Mary Rose Goode, brother Bill Goode, brother-in-law Sam Donnici, and sisters Jeanette Goode and Margaret Sweeney, his nephews Donny Goode, Jr, and John Goode, and niece Suzanne Reedy.
