Deacon was always so nice to be around. I had just talked with him at Mike Veilhauer’s funeral last week. And although I hadn’t seen him in a while, we just chatted away. Sorry I was unable to attend the funeral. RIP Deacon

I'm the manager of the MC Farmer's Market. This is how I met him. He was a vendor and was known for his tomatoes and watermelon. He loved my banana bread and requested it weekly. He always talked about his family and garden. He loved to sing and gave me his first CD record last summer. I always looked forward to visiting with him. The farmer's market will not be the same without him. My condolences to your family! He will truly be missed in Mound City!
