David Alan Bahr, 71, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023, at home with family. Visitation will be Friday, March 10 at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS from 4 to 6 PM with the Rosary Prayed at 4 PM. Memorial Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3024 N. 53rd St., Kansas City, Kansas at 10 AM on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Inurnment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas. Memorial contributions can be made to Christ the King Catholic Church or KCK Animal Control Services or Gilda’s Club of KC.

David was born in Kansas City, Kansas, September 2, 1951, the son of Lawrence E. Bahr and Fuchsia (Fuqua) Bahr.  David Graduated from Washington high School in 1969. He was a member of IBEW Local #124 for 50 years as a Journeyman Wireman, 3rd generation Electrician, which he was very proud of and he loved his work. He retired in 2004. He was a member of Christ the King Church, he loved his dogs, but most of all his “Boy Bandit”. David was dedicated to his faith, and going to church. He like riding his motorcycle and working on them. He liked watching movies, collecting watches, knives and tools. Later in his life, he enjoyed growing tomatoes, mowing the yard, and watching over his neighborhood. David was the mayor of 43rd St. by our neighbor Ernie, who he had a fun and wonderful friendship. He had a great sense of humor and was a prankster, always willing to help someone when able.  David had a special bond with his friends. He loved his family very much and adored his grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Mickey Bahr (wife Diane Bahr) niece, Julie Kostelac and husband (Jim Kostelac), and nephew, Joe Broderick. He is survived by his wife, Kristie (Overcash) Bahr, daughters, Stacy Hudgens and Megan Bahr, sister, Janet Seitter and granddaughters, Alicia Hudgens and Gabrielle Hudgens and one great grandson, Jackson David Martin, many nieces and nephews, cousins and many good friends.

I'm so sorry for your loss. He will be missed. I used to babysit for Megan & Stacy 45+ years ago. I remember that David was always so nice to me and made me laugh.
