David Wade Gawith, 60, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on January 9, 2023. David was born to the late James E Gawith and Dana Louise (Sheppard) Hagen on July 20, 1962 in LaJunta, Colorado and spent his formative years in Salina, Kansas. David moved to Kansas City and met his future wife Roseanne Sullivan. David was very social and loved being around his family and friends especially his daughter Shelah. David was very competitive at playing pool, enjoyed many other sports and activities, and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. He was known for his sense of humor and was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.

David started his career as a printing press operator for 15 years. Then decided he would rather work for himself and went into specialized cement work and general contracting.

David was preceded in death by his parents; brother James E Gawith Jr; sisters Rosanne Hagen, and Melinda Thomas.

Survivors include: His wife Roseanne, daughter Shelah, of Overland Park, KS. Siblings: Mary Albers, Salina, KS; Stephen (Sharon) Gawith, Salina, KS; Marc Gawith, Phoenix, AZ; Kevin (Barbara) Gawith, Ottawa, KS; Connie Gawith, Iowa, LA; Troy (Deb) Hagen, Talmage KS; Melanie (Jeff) Hartzell, Harrisburg, PA; Travis (Tammy) Hagen, Solomon, KS; Melissa (Adam) Johnson, Kansas City, MO; brother-in-law Stan Thomas, numerous nieces and nephews and many family members and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Porter Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lenexa, KS

A gathering for family and friends will be held in Kansas City, MO on Friday, January 13th with a Celebration of Life to be planned later in the year in Salina, KS.
