     Katherine B. Heeren, 91, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022.  Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, December 1, at the St. Dionysios Greek Orthodox Church 8100 West 95th Street, Overland Park, KS.  Graveside Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA. 

     Katherine was born September 25, 1931, in Sioux City, IA to James and Sophia Bovis.  She was a Business Account Executive for UMB Bank for many years retiring in 1996.  She was a member of the St. Dionysios Greek Orthodox Church in Overland Park, KS.  

Katherine was preceded in death  by her husband Marvin Heeren and brother Nicholas Bovis.  She is survived by her children Jim (Susan) Heeren, Beth (Lynn) Huhs, Greg (Dianne) Heeren, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and extended family and friends.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. She was so wonderful at keeping in touch. She was very, very proud of her children and grandchildren. Not one of their achievements went untold. I will miss our conversations and her laughter.

As one of her neighbors, I had a wonderful hour-long visit with Kay last June 2022, when I went over to invite her to a good-bye party for Pete and Joan Lons, long time neighbors on Westbrooke Drive. She was vibrant and a few days later, showed up to the morning "driveway party" with so much enthusiasm-- ready to connect with all guests.
