Nancy was born and raised in Chanute, KS. She married Wayne Brandon and had three children. After graduating from Pittsburg State, she taught social studies at Chanute High School.

Wayne’s railroad job took the family to Bonner Springs, KS. While working, raising a family and engaging in community activities, Nancy obtained her Master’s at Emporia and did Post Graduate work at K-State.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, she counseled at an alternative school, community college and a federal job placement project. She earned the Outstanding Achievement Award in 1986 from the Missouri Special Needs Association as recognition of her work in the most difficult areas of Kansas City, MO.

After raising three grandchildren, the couple moved to Woodland Shores where they became active in church, organizational, water board and WSPOA activities.
