Richard J. Korek, 91, of Olathe, KS, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022.  Visitation will be 10-11:00 AM with a Funeral Mass following at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 6, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11300 W. 103rd, Overland Park, KS.  Entombment in Resurrection Cemetery.  In leiu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Richard was born November 20, 1930, in Milwaukee, WI to Valentine and Rose (Wieloch) Korek.  He served in the United States Army.  Richard received his BA from the University of Wisconsin and studied at the Art Center School in LA for 3 years.  He worked as an Art Director in LA, Houston and Kansas City until he established his own agency "Ad Design".  He loved flying his plane, driving his motorcycle, Porsche, sailing his boat and spending time at the lake in Wisconsin.  He enjoyed being a clown with Joan, making kids happy with balloon animals.  Richard was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, it's choir, HOA Barber Shop Chorus, and the Knights of Columbus.  Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Patrice, grandson Rolli, sisters Flo and Helen, and his brother Ray.  He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Joan C. Korek, daughter Deb Price, Julie Korek and extended family.

We will miss Dick and all that he and Joan did to make the Knights Lenten Dinners more enjoyable by faithfully attending as our clowns each week. The child love them and they always brought such joy and happiness to all. We will miss you Dick. RIP.

I have met with Dick 20 years ago during my first visit to US. He was a brilliant man. And with lovly Joan they were my host family. I have so much positive memories, inspite of that I havn't a chance to meet them after. We continued our relations via Facebook. I am so sorry. The world has lost a good man. I first met Dick in the late 90's~early 2000's singing with the Heart of America Barbershop Chorus. He was a leader, a go-getter, always willing to pitch in, and always a smile with something positive to say. Joan, you married a good one, as if I needed to say that. Since both of our departures from barbershop, I'd lost contact, much to my regret. My sincere condolences to Joan and family. Grant

Many years ago I worked for Smitty's Photographics and we did business with the company where Mr. Korek worked . I remember him as he was always a courteous and well dressed gentleman. He was well liked and respected.

Dick lived life to the fullest! I have fond memories of many a Summer evening playing volleyball in the Korek pool with fellow Holy Spirit parishioners. Rest in peace Dick! Prayers and best wishes to you Joanie!
