Jeffrey Joseph Middlesworth passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022, in Olathe, KS. He was born on February 28, 1984, in Des Moines, IA, the second child of Steve and Karen Middlesworth.
Jeff started school in Des Moines, IA, until his family moved to Lenexa, KS, in March 1991, where he entered 1st grade in the Shawnee Mission School District. He graduated from Shawnee Mission West in 2002. He worked for his dad for awhile until he finally decided upon the nursing profession. Jeff was a very loving and compassionate person, and nursing became his life’s goal.
Jeff graduated from JCCC, Overland Park, KS, in 2010, with his RN. In 2020, he completed his BSN at Bethel College, Newton, KS. He absolutely loved his work. He was a Critical Care Nurse at University Health - Truman Medical Center, Kansas City, MO. He felt blessed and took pride in this fulfilling job. He spoke often about how much he was learning. His greatest aspiration was to continue his education beyond his BSN, and was looking forward to obtaining an advanced nursing degree.
As his friends can attest to, Jeff was a quick wit and he enjoyed the many new and life-long friendships he formed. Through ups and downs, those friendships remained.
The greatest joys of Jeff’s life were his two daughters, Lilyan (born 2004) and Kennedy (born 2011), with former wife, Danielle Asher. He thoroughly enjoyed his time with the girls. At the time of his death, Lilyan was living with him. The girls will need much support of family and friends going forward. They were very close with their father. Jeff also had a life-long love of fishing, video games (Halo, in particular), maintaining several aquariums, and enjoying the companionship of his Shih Tzu, Looney.
The family was so very thankful to have just spent a week together in June in North Carolina with Jeff’s sister, Valerie and family. It was a joyous visit, with many wonderful memories, and one we are so blessed to have had.
Jeff will always be remembered with love and affection by the many family, friends, work associates and patients whose lives he touched. Gone before him were his grandparents, Vera and Harold Monohon, and Glen and Martha Middlesworth; and aunts, Susan Krier, Linda Monohon and Penny Monohon. Left to remember our son Jeffrey are father and mother, Steve and Karen Middlesworth of Lenexa, KS; his two daughters, Lilyan and Kennedy Middlesworth; sister, Valerie Caldwell (John) of Winterville, NC; uncles Michael Monohon (Karen Boeding) of Indianola, IA, and Patrick Monohon (Walter Murray) of Albany, GA; nephews and nieces, Gavin, Noah, Ava and Vanessa Caldwell; cousins, Jennifer Myers (Tyson Reynoldson) of Ankeny, IA, Grant Monohon of NYC, Phillip Monohon of Phoenix, AZ, Laura Effie (Rob) of Olathe, KS, and Stephanie Hawk (Brandon) of Marion, IA; much extended family; and many friends and work associates.
Visitation will be held at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia St, Lenexa, KS, on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., with the funeral service to follow immediately thereafter.
