Lyle L. Feld of Lenexa, KS passed away Friday, December 3, 2021.  Lyle was born on August 31, 1945 in Carroll, Iowa to Roy and Mildred Feld.  While completing his Master’s Degree at the University of Iowa, Lyle was married to Ruth Donnelly in July, 1968.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Dean Vang.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years and their three children: Christopher (Stacey) Feld, Michele (Dean) Zahradnik, Kathleen (Jeff) Barrett; his grandchildren: Ian, Logan and Kaitlyn Feld; Noah, Reed and Will Zahradnik; and Haydn Barrett. Lyle was an employee of the John Deere Company for 35 years and a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Shawnee for over 40 years. He enjoyed his many years of volunteer work with Good Shepherd, Head Start of Shawnee Mission, Catholic Charities, and AARP Tax-Aide. For fun, he loved to read, travel the world, play tennis (he always hoped to be playing tennis well into his 80”s), complete jigsaw puzzles, play cards and games, and root for the Iowa Hawkeyes, St. Louis Cardinals, and Kansas City Chiefs. But most importantly, he loved spending time with his loving wife, children, and grandchildren having fun and laughing.

A visitation will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 12800 W. 75th Street, Shawnee from 11:00 -12:30  Saturday, December 11, 2021, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 12:30 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Growing Futures Early Education Center or Kansas City Hospice.

We will always remember his discussions about family, Iowa football and his competiveness when playing cards. He maintain numerous records for everyone's review. At Deere meetings he would remind us of how to manage expenses and coined the phrase "tacky trinkets". He was always available to give a helping hand for those who needed assistance. Our prayers are for Ruth and family.

The best thing about moving to Kansas City was meeting Ruth and Lyle and their children. Our memories of them are rich and we are grieved that we will not be doing trips that Lyle planned so carefully. Lyle will always live in our hearts and Ruth, Chris, Shelly and Kathleen will remain with us to love and enjoy.

I had the pleasure of working with Lyle for 12 years. He was a man with high intelligence and extremely high integrity. You couldn't find a better employee to work with on any project. But most of all, my wife, Karen, and I were honored to have called him our friend. May God receive our good friend in peace.

So sorry to hear of Lyle's passing. It seems like only yesterday we were on the Deere audit staff as we began our careers - playing tennis (I always lost) and traveling the country. He was the epitome of someone who always set the example to be followed. Lyle will be missed.
