A Visitation will be from 1:00 -1:30 PM with Services starting at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS 66215.

A private graveside service will be held separately

2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”.

She is home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and several family members that went before her including: her daughter Charlotte F. Zukowski, son Edmond L. Tomlinson, a granddaughter Christine A. Butler, and her grandfather that rode in the Pony Express who she so loved to talk about. Her family is waiting in heaven with open arms. Katie was a makeup artist for over 50 years here in KC area and traveled to other states for special promotions. She was joined in holy matrimony to Claude G. Cowart May 12, 1973. Her natural beauty and their shared love for Jesus Christ made their marriage a precious gift from heaven. Katie was small in structure but strong in her convictions which brought out her spirited nature. Those of us who loved her so much expected nothing less. She will be greatly missed and cherished forever. We will always keep talking about her; she deserves to be remembered. Katie leaves behind her loving husband of 48 years Claude G. Cowart, a son Roy (Tom) Tomlinson his wife Karla Tomlinson, a son Randal Tomlinson his wife Bonita Tomlinson, and Steve Cowart his wife Cyndi Cowart and many other family members. Mr. Cowart will keep her light shining and share with others how he and Katie loved the Lord with all their heart. His love for his wife will go on until they are joined together at last in their final resting place.
