Kathleen L. Nelson, 74, of Olathe, KS, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.  A Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 PM Wednesday, September 15, 2021 with a visitation to follow until 6:00 PM at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia Lenexa, KS 66215.  Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Thursday, September 16, at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, 9405 Mission Rd. Leawood, KS.  Entombment in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Cure of Ars Catholic Church.

Kathy was born December 10, 1946, in Kansas City,  MO. She was married Michael E Nelson in 1965. She was full time mother and a senior account manager for the worlds largest food manufacture.  Kathy was active in many roles at Holy Spirit Catholic Church including the Stephens ministry and helping with CCD.  She was preceded in death by her grandson Tyler Andrew Nelson.  She is survived by her husband, Michael E. Nelson, sons Michael E. (Marrion) Nelson, II, Mark E. Nelson, Matthew E. Nelson,  grandsons;  Michael Nelson, III, Tanner Nelson, Luke Nelson, sisters-in-law Lynn (Bill) Black, Pattie Farrell. As well as  a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, former daughter-in-laws and friends.

Kathy was more of a sister than sister in law and I will miss you everday. I will miss your laugh we would talk on the phone and imitate, my mom and her cousin how they would just say WELL and hang up they never said good-bye and we did that and laughed about it but now I know it was a good thing, because now its hard because I am telling you good-bye, until we meet again I love you and miss you, but know now you are out of pain.
