Mary T. Pope, 95, Kansas City, Kansas, died Friday, June 4, 2021 at her home. The Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Friday, June 11 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2203 Parallel, Kansas City, KS. The Rosary will be prayed at 9:45 a.m. with the Funeral Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Entombment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

     Mary was born August 18, 1925, in Kansas City,  Kansas the daughter of Edward and Marie (Whelan) Ernst. She had been a Registered Nurse at the old Providence Hospital at 18th and Tauromee and then at Providence-St. Margaret Health Center. Mary was a lifetime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, a member of the Altar Society and the Young at Hearts and had been a volunteer for Cancer Action for many years. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, step-father, her husband, Earl, and a brother and step-sister. Mary is survived by 7 children and their spouses, Michael Pope and Joanne, Judy and Shelby Sturgeon, Jane Pope, Susan and Brent Nattrass, Thomas and Sherry Pope, Philip Pope, Stephen and Amy Pope, her brother and his wife, John and Judy Ernst, grandchildren, Michael, Julie, Angie, Stephanie, Dustin, John, Christopher, Jaime, Shannon, Sean, Daria, Brian, Katelyn, Chance, Megan, Thomas, Lauren, Nicklaus, Amber, Andrea, Jacob and Rachel, 29 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren with 1 on the way.
