Apr 25, 1941---May 18, 2026

Anthon (Tony) Martin Henshaw was born April 25, 1941 in Sioux City IA, to Delbert and DorothyHenshaw(Hughes).  He passed away on May 18, 2026, (85 years old) in hospice care at his home. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, two sisters DorothyArmada Johnson, and Joyce May Franklin. As well as one son-in-law David J Skalick

 

He met and married the love of his life Diane Grace Mudder in college and they were united in holy matrimony at the bride’s family farm in Alcester, South Dakota on September 17, 1961. To this union two daughters were born Kathy Lynn Skalick, and Kimberly Ann Mundorff (David)

He completed his early education in the Sioux City school system.  He went on to attend Los Angeles Valley College and earned an Associates In Arts degree, then went on to California State University at Northridge, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.  He also attended the University of Michigan, School of Business Administration receiving a certificate in Management of Managers.

In his professional life Tony worked at Witco Chemical company in Century City, CA  starting as a Buyer, and ending his career after 35 years as Director of Purchasing for The Americas in New York City, NY, overseeing and visiting many plants across the country.  This career took both him and his family to many different places to live. Upon retirement, in the Kansas City area, he worked for H&R Block for 15 years completeing income taxes for clients.

Tony served in the United States Navy, enlisting on May 29, 1962. He served two tours of duty during the Vietnam war.  During that time he served on the USS Dennis J Buckley, and the USS Edson for the western Pacific cruise. While in service he received, A Vietnam Service medal, National Defense Medal, Navy Unity Commendation Ribbon,and the  Good Conduct medal. He received an Honorable Discharge.

 

He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Diane, daughters Kathy, and Kimberly, three grandchildren, Kristina Danika Skalick, Jonathan David Skalick, and Brianna Joy Mundorff, Loving dog Grace Ann Henshaw, and a host of family and friends.

 

Services will be held on May 28, 2026 at Bethany Luthern Church with a Visitation from 9:30am to 10:30am.  Service at 10:30am.  The burial will take place at Leavenworth National in Leavenworth, Kansas at 12:30pm. Officiating Pastor will be Reverend Sean Baker, and he will be assisted by Reverend Rob Choate.  Arrangements under the direction of Porter Funeral Home, Lenexa, KS.

A reservation at 2:00pm has been made at Viona’s Italian Bistro located at 7933 Marty St. in Overland Park for those who would like to attend.
