Alice Putman , Age: 90
April 29, 1928 -- August 06, 2018

Alice Putman passed away on August 6, 2018.  Alice was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Ernest and Frances Anselmi.  She had two younger brothers.  Her parents and brothers pre-deceased her. After graduation from high school, Alice went to Lincoln Nebraska to study nursing at St. Elizabeth School of Nursing.
Alice met Dale Putman on her 20th birthday. It was Dale’s 21st birthday and they share the same birthday. They married at the Cathedral in Lincoln Nebraska on September 8, 1951.They celebrated sixty-six years of marriage.  Alice and Dale have seven children – Mark, Lee, Neil, Bruce, Kirk, Nancy and Wendy.  They have seventeen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
After their marriage, they moved to Sioux City, Iowa where they lived for twenty-five years. While in Iowa, Alice served on the Hoover School PTA Board and was president of the Confraternity at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.   Alice was also a Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout den mother.
The family moved to Leawood, Kansas in 1976. Alice served as president of Leawood Welcomers and on the board of Sister Cities of Leawood, Kansas and Yilan, Taiwan. Alice and Dale have been members of Cure’ of Ars Catholic Church for forty-two years.  She held many offices at Cure’ of Ars including president of the Woman’s Club, Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister.
In addition to raising seven children, Alice loved to play golf and garden.  Red roses were her favorite flower.  She loved reading, playing bridge and watching old movies and Jeopardy!.  Alice loved to travel with her husband, mother, daughters and grandchildren.  She took her grandchildren on trips of their choice including Europe, China, Australia and South Africa.   She visited most U. S. states and sixty-six countries.  Alice enjoyed spending time at her condo in Scottsdale, Arizona where one of her daughters and two grandsons live.  She loved celebrating Independence Day in the mountains of Colorado with all her family.  Alice hosted wonderful large family dinners for holidays and birthdays.
Visitation will be from 9-10:00 AM with Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 11th at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, 9405 Mission Road, Leawood, KS.  Entombment at Resurrection Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, Alice suggested donations to Catholic Charities food pantry or Catholic Community Hospice.
