Aunt Paula may not have been my aunt by blood, but she figured in so many memories growing up. She was at every birthday and we visited around every holiday until we moved to Ohio and after that sent cards on every birthday and a movie every Christmas. 32 years later, she sent my husband and me a housewarming plant when we bought our first house. She never forgot us, and I will never forget her. I was so very sad to hear of her passing and I know she is at peace now, with her Daddy and brother Scott. My deepest sympathies to her family.

The Riley Family knew Paula and her family - Beverly and David, Scott and Jeff; but, especially, we knew her grandparents - Ethel and Fred Duffendack. Our places at the Lake of the Ozarks in Ivy Bend were side by side. We are still there! Rest in peace, Paula - a lovely young lady.

Please accept our condolences on Paula’s departure from this life as she enters her heavenly reward. More than anything I wish I could be there to celebrate her life with you. 45 years ago we met in 9th grade when the power went out at school and played tic-tac-toe. So many of my teenage memories involve her and your family. Many fun times at the Lake like when the family taught me how to waterski.........from inside the boat. None of you had done it but coached me on how they saw “others” do it. Not sure how but you got me up. I had the bruises to prove it. Or how we washed the paper plates and hung them on a line to dry because Grandma Duffy was a child of the Great Depression. Paula snickered while my mouth dropped. But I was out there hanging them up right alongside her. She was a great “auntie” to my kids. And 36 years ago tomorrow stood with me as I married my best friend. She wrote on my first card from her—-“a ring is round and has no end, and that’s how long I’ll be your friend “. Little did I know she’d write that on every card since. Back atcha girlfriend. Back atcha. Love, Cheryl and Joe
