Anthony B. Bartoszek , Age: 95
January 19, 1923 -- May 21, 2018

Anthony B. Bartoszek, 95, died May 21, 2018. He was born in Pennsylvania on January 19, 1923 to Frank and Hedwig Bartoszek, Polish immigrants. The family moved to Perronville, MI shortly after he was born. Perronville remained a special place to him. He enjoyed staying at the cabin in the woods that he built with his brothers in the 1940s. Tony served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He graduated from Michigan Technological University as a Forester and worked for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company as a pipeline engineer for 33 years. In 1951, he married Faye Milligan of Foster City, MI. They moved to Overland Park, KS in 1955 where they raised their 4 children. He was devoted to his wife and family. Mom and Dad celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in a suite at the “K’ watching the KC Royals with family and friends. He was a member of Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church for 63 years. In the early 1960s, he started Fontana Pines Christmas Tree Farm in Fontana, KS which continues today as a family business. He enjoyed and appreciated his many loyal customers and hard working crews at the Christmas tree farm.

Dad’s goal was to always accomplish something every day.

Tony (Tun) is survived by his wife, Faye, of almost 67 years, four children: Joe (Onalee) of Denver, CO, Teresa, Eddy, and Julie (Craig) Westhoff. Five grandchildren: Hannah, Hayley, and Jake WestHoff, and Jaron and Jamey Bartoszek. Sister, Helen Horton of Arizona, and three sisters-in-law: Bea Bartoszek, Phyllis (Marshall) Kesler, and Ann Milligan, and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Mary Kolodz, Mildred Yagodzinski, Sophie Shiverski, and brothers: John, Joe, Thomas, Francis, and Florian.

Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 AM with Funeral Mass Starting at 10:30 AM Friday, May 25, 2018 at Queen of the Holy Rosary, 7023 West 71st Street, Overland Park, KS 66204. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Queen of the Holy Rosary Church or John Paul II Catholic School.
