Ida M. O’Connor, 82, of Kansas City, KS, passed away May 6, 2018. A celebration of life will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 11 at Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave, Kansas City, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Ida was born May 10, 1935, as a twin to sister, Ada; to Walt and Ethel (Hay) Hartshorn, in Arma, KS. She married Ramon J. “Ray” O’Connor on October 25, 1958. They were members of Grandview Christian Church. While raising her three children, Ida was a Boy Scout troop leader in the 60's basketball coach for the "Girls Club" in the 70s. She served as a leader for the 4-H Walcott Wonders. Later in her life, she cared for her husband, Ray in their home until his death on April 18, 2013. Ida enjoyed canning food, baking and most of all, she loved her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray; and son, Charlie. She is survived by her children son, Walter O’Connor; daughter, Dianna McGraw; 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; and her sister, Ada Howe.
