Maurice D. `Maury` Tunison , Age: 88
May 09, 1929 -- March 21, 2018

Maury Tunison, 88, of Overland Park Kansas, passed away peacefully March 21, 2018. Maury was born in Wheaton, Kansas, May 9, 1929, the son of Charles and Agnes Tunison.  He was an Army Veteran and served in the Korean Conflict where his service earned him four bronze stars and a United Nations Service Medal.

Maury worked his entire professional career at Patterson Dental Company where he excelled and collected numerous awards and recognition for his passion and dedication to his profession as an Equipment Sales Manager. He never met a stranger and loved to tell stories and jokes.  Upon retirement he enjoyed traveling, golf, his family and his Kansas Jayhawks.  He was married to Marilyn Jean Hart Tunison for nearly 62 years until her passing in 2016. Along with his wife, Maury was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and his son, Todd Tunison.  Survivors include his daughter, Sandi (Curt) Grove, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM- 12:00 PM with Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM Wednesday, March 28, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 11300 W. 103rd  Overland Park,  KS 66214;  Burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa,  Kansas.   In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions are suggested to Catholic Charities of Kansas City or Kansas City Hospice.
