Jennifer Ann L`Heureux , Age: 51
August 21, 1966 -- February 26, 2018

Jennifer “Jenny” Ann L’Heureux, 51, of Shawnee, KS passed away February 26, 2018 surrounded by family. Jenny was born August 21, 1966 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Jim and Kristin L’Heureux. Jenny graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest in 1985. She lettered in several sports including softball, basketball, and golf. When she lived in Wisconsin, she played hockey on an all boys team. Jenny was a very athletic child. She continued playing golf and once had a “Hole in One”. She attended KU and has been a loyal KU Basketball fan since that time. Jenny loved traveling and meeting new people.

She was adventurous and fearless in any new opportunity that came her way. She also loved cooking, sunsets and camping and anything with nature. Jenny worked at Budde’s (Scoreboards) for 25 years. There is a strong community from those days who have stayed together and have been by Jenny’s side when she has been sick. Many of those friends have been a part of Jenny’s annual canoe trip down the Buffalo River. These trips brought so many friends together and has given them memories they will never forget. That is what Jenny did best – bringing people together and creating memories. All of her stories end in laughter. After Scoreboards, Jenny became a cheese steward at Hen House. She loved her job there because she was always meeting new people. Jenny is very affectionate, loving, she puts others before herself and her generosity has no limits. She will be remembered as being full of life, shining light on every one she met. Our loss is great, but will be consoled by knowing how many people she has influenced and helped.

Jenny is preceded in death by her grandparents, she leaves her parents, siblings Mark, Jon, (Jessica & Nick), her partner Lori Smith, her children Sophia and Corey Smith, nieces Juliona, Bella and Avery, nephews Logan & Tyler, aunts, uncles and extended family.

Teammate a LONG time ago Shawnee , Kansas

I had not talked to Jenny in probably almost 30 years but man was she cool. Jenny and her band of Senior friends took me and one of my other Sophomore friends under their wings at SMNW (SMNW was only 10-12 grade at the time). We played basketball and softball with them and they let us into their tight knit group. You know how awkward you are, or you feel, at that age... Jenny invited us, included us, and gave us confidence as great building blocks for our lives beyond SMNW. Jenny was always welcoming and leading the parade. She deserves to be remembered with a hearty laugh and a toast. I am pretty sure I had my first toast with her too. Jenny, thanks for the memories and the leg up! To her family, she was one special and fun gal. Thank you for sharing her. Prayers for you all and Jenny

My late husband, Phil, and I knew Jenny from Scoreboard’s. She had the most beautiful smile and warm demeanor. We enjoyed her carefree but caring spirit. We always looked forward to chatting with Jenny. She was a wonderful partner to Lori and parent to her children. We will miss this this kind and loving woman. My sincere condolences to Lori, family and friends. Peggy Torno
