Katherine F. “Katie” Scott , Age: 29
September 18, 1988 -- February 01, 2018

Katherine F. "Katie" Scott, 29, of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Friday, February 9 at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, 9405 Mission Rd., Leawood, KS, with the Rosary being recited at 7.  The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 10 at Cure of Ars.  Private burial in Resurrection Cemetery will follow.  In lieu of flowers, Katie’s family suggests memorial contributions to the Jimmy V Foundation for cancer research.

Katie was born September 18, 1988 in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Mark and Ann (Dixon) Reynolds.  Katie was a life-long resident of the Kansas City area.  She graduated from Bishop Miege High School in 2007 and Benedictine College in 2011.  Katie had a passion for running and playing sports, including being a member of the BC women’s soccer team.

On December 13, 2014, Katie married the love of her life, Ryan Scott.  They lived life to the fullest and their love for each other was apparent to all those who knew them.

Katie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bill and Virginia Dixon.  She leaves behind her husband Ryan, her parents, Mark and Ann Reynolds, her big brother Dan and his wife Molly, her favorite sister Liz, her paternal grandparents, Ray and Joyce Reynolds, her in-laws, Ron and Robbin Scott, and sister-in-law Kylee (Scott) Eikenberg, her husband Andrew and niece Hannah.   Katie also leaves behind her three nephews, Rex, Henry and Charlie Reynolds, whom she loved dearly.

Katie was also blessed to have many friends who have been by her side throughout her life.  Our hearts are broken and she will be dearly missed.

Most of my memories growing up at Holy Spirit involve Katie. She was full of life, hilarious, strong, determined, and fearless. I'll always remember her like that. In so many ways, I looked up to her even though she was a peer. Sending all my love to your family during this time. I'm so sorry for your loss. I've made a contribution in her name to the Jimmy V Foundation.
