Kermit G. Newton , Age: 78
November 20, 1939 -- January 27, 2018

Kermit (Newt) Newton 78, of Fairway KS passed away January 27th, 2018. Newt graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1957 where he was a standout baseball pitcher who went on to play for Kansas State. Following his retirement from the elevator industry after 35 years, he enjoyed playing softball, dancing, driving around in his truck with his dog Peggy Sue, and most of all riding his Harley. Throughout his life he became an experienced do-it-yourselfer that used his talent to remodel not only his home but also his daughters’ homes. He was a perfectionist with a work ethic that was one of kind. He had a charismatic personality and for those that had the pleasure of knowing him he will forever be remembered as the master of telling jokes. Newt has been reunited with his best friend Gib Wilson; the team is back together telling stories and jokes to crack each other up. He was preceded in death by his daughter Lori Shehan. Survived by his wife of 55 years Malinda, daughters Molly Mowry, and Amy Newton (David Bulla), grandchildren Steven and Maggie Mowry, Katie and Sara Shehan, Jake Newton, great granddaughter Lilah, brothers Charles Newton (Gini), Dean Newton (Patty), and sister Sharon Dalhquist (John). A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Thinking of you all and remembering the good times with Uncle Kermit. His "fetch-me-me-brown-pants" joke is a family favorite and is often repeated. Praying for all of you during this transition period. Happier days ahead.
