Scott J. Musson , Age: 43
June 23, 1974 -- January 21, 2018

Scott James Musson of Smithville, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 21, 2018.  Scott grew up on a farm in Iowa Falls, Iowa. He played football in high school, was into bodybuilding and weight lifting, and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa. Scott and Kimberly met while working at Children's Mercy. They were married on July 2, 2015 in Panama City Beach, Florida. Scott was an X-Ray tech at Gashland Clinic. Everyone knew that Scott was the ultimate Hawkeye fan. One of his favorite things to say was, “It’s great to be a Hawkeye!” He not only was an amazing cook but he especially loved grilling. Scott was known to have a Mountain Dew in his hand, jamming to Paula Abdul, and quoting the Minions from Despicable Me. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and kids to Jamaica, Mexico, Honduras, Belize, and Hawaii. His mesmerizing smile, contagious laugh, and personality will be missed. We love and miss you intensely.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Pennie Lyn Musson. He is survived by his wife Kimberly, stepdaughters Autumn and Eve, stepson Shannon Jr., daughter Aubriella, his father Douglas (Karen), brothers Troy (Jill) and Mark(Molly), sister Tracy (Joe), and several nieces and nephews including Abbie, Megan, Ellie, Matthew, Maria, Madelyn, Kayla (Megan), Tanner, and Brittan(Zach).

Visitation will be 2:00-2:30 PM with Memorial Service to follow at 2:30 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Vineyard Church in the East Auditorium, 12300 NW Arrowhead Trafficway, Kansas City, MO 64165.

Friend - Groomsman in our Wedding (Mike Penaluna) Marion , Iowa

My sincere condolences to you Doug and to the rest of his family. Mike just called me with the news. We had NO came from his Aunt in Iowa Falls. I'm sorry we can't make it to the memorial tomorrow. Scott will remain in our hearts forever. I have fond memories of getting to know him when Mike and I started dating at UNI in 1995. I remember them always calling one another, "CUZ" then he was a groomsman in our wedding 20 years ago and Mike was his Best Man in his wedding to Billy Jo. My heart aches for you all. Please find comfort the Lord has opened his arms to him and he is at peace, and catching up with your wife/mom, who was truly one of the kindest ladies I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Let your faith guide you as your morn, you will all remain in our prayers. All our Love, Mike, Stephanie, Peyton, Parker and Preston Penaluna (Marion, Iowa)

Friend and neighbor Olathe , Kansas

Doug, Kim, Troy, Mark, Tracy and family, please know our prayers for your comfort in Christ have been many since we heard the sad news of Scott's passing. I will long remember Scott as Scotty, the "neighbor" kid who lived right next door only a mile away on one of the next farms north of us. I have many great memories of finding fun and trouble on the farms, raising and showing livestock through our local 4-H chapter and at the Hardin County Fair, and riding that long bus ride to and from school. Scott was always smiling and always ready to mix it up. When he was young he wore leg braces that made him walk, in my young view, like a gunslinger from the old west. Those things never slowed him down and he was a ball of fire and energy. I hope all who knew him will remember all of the great and positive things he brought with him. I also hope all can find peace in Christ and hope in the future. Doug, you were there for us when Dad passed and I'll never forget it. Please know we are here to help at a moment's notice.
