Timothy L. Stealey , Age: 68
March 19, 1949 -- December 25, 2017

Timothy Lawrence Stealey, 68, of the Lake of the Ozarks passed away Christmas night surrounded by his loved ones. Winning his first bout with blood cancer in 2014, he was diagnosed again in May 2017, requiring a bone marrow transplant, and eventually succumbed due to complications. Tim was born on March 19th, 1949 to Larry and Frankie Stealey and grew up in Overland Park, KS. He attended Shawnee Mission East High School where he was a member of the football and track teams. He graduated from Emporia State University with an Education degree in 1972. Tim worked for the Kansas City Star as a pressman for nearly 40 years before retiring in 2012. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Maureen, his mother, Frankie Stealey, his siblings, Ted Stealey (Carol Jo) and Sue Corbett (Bill), his 4 children, Amy Valentine (Ian), Tim Stealey, Sean Stealey (Selene), Matthew Stealey (Erin), and grandkids, Tristan, Avery, Layke, Beckett, Landen, Kinlie, Lennon, Matiaz, Kerstyn and Mason. He loved fishing with his grandchildren and taking them on boat rides. He enjoyed attending all of their sports activities and family gatherings. He was a proud member of Indian Rock Golf Club. If he wasn’t golfing or fishing with the grandkids you could find him on the 19th hole with many good friends he had met along the way. He loved living at the lake and he adored his grandchildren. One of Tim’s final requests was that there be no official services held in his honor, but only a gathering to celebrate his life, which will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend special thanks to the KU Medical Center, in particular, the staff of Unit 41 of the BMT clinic.
