Mary Evelyn Taylor , Age: 96
November 26, 1920 -- August 02, 2017

Mary Evelyn Taylor, Kansas City, Kansas, died August 2, 2017 at her home. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, August 7th at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Evelyn was born November 26, 1920 in Princeton, Missouri. Evelyn was preceded in death by her dearly loved husband, Richard Paul Taylor, in 1999 and her daughter, Paula Wray McDaniel, in 2017. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Richard Michael and Lynda Moore Taylor, and her son-in-law, Larry McDaniel of Moyock, North Carolina. Her sweet legacy also continues in her grandchildren (Shane, Hunter, Pamela, Mark, Adrienne, and Michael), their families, and her great-grandchildren. Evelyn lived her long life well. She had many roles, but best loved those of wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a talented seamstress, homemaker, textile artist, writer, and bowler. She had legendary abilities to win contests, make costumes, mix cocktails, and decorate her world with a vision of style. She was a voracious reader, enthusiastic Chiefs and KU fan, and celebrated her grandchildren. She enjoyed her rich social life and was a loyal friend who was as free with her love and support as she was with her opinions. She cherished her faith and attended Sunset Hills Christian Church. She was most likely the best staff head secretary that the General Motors Fairfax Plant ever saw and her volunteerism with Providence Medical and RSVP Cancer Action was appreciated and richly rewarded—especially in doughnuts. She was grateful to God, married a man she truly loved, raised good people, gave her best heart, and her presence will be felt even longer than she lived.

"God's loving care is heartwarming. It comforts us when we're upset. And even the hairs of our head he's numbered. Why should we worry or fret? Though tests and trials befall us, We'll never have cause to despair. If God takes note of a fallen sparrow, Surely for us He will care." 1 Peter 5:7
