June 29, 1927 -- February 11, 2017

Carol E. Daugherty, 89, of Kansas City, KS passed away February 11, 2017 during a full moon, lunar eclipse and green comet. A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15 at Chapel Hill Cemetery, 701 N. 94th Street, Kansas City, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Vitas Hospice.

Carol was born June 29, 1927, the daughter of Louis A. “L.A.” and Hazel (Carroll) Young, in Kansas City, KS. Carol was a faithful Christian and enjoyed singing in the choir as a long-time member of Trinity Community Church. 

No one loved her family more than Carol. Carol is survived by her son, Steve and wife Karen; son, Stanley; three grandchildren, Brian and Evan Daugherty; Melissa and husband Mark Hembrey; two great grandchildren, Noah and Amelia; and sister, Brenda Berkstresser.

I was so sorry to read about Carol's passing today in the KC Star. I will always remember Carol as the sweetest lady who would do anything for her family and friends. She was a very special lady. My condolences and blessings to Stan and Steve along with the rest of the family. I know she will be missed.

I'm so sorry to hear about Carol's passing. She was the sweetest woman I knew. I have such fond memories of talking to her when I would randomly stop in for a visit over the years. My thoughts and prayers go out to Stan, Steve and Karen, and the rest of the family.
