Matt was born April 27, 1982, in Kansas City, KS to Gary and Diane (Ryckert) Paden. He was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 2000. He followed his father's footsteps in the insurance business.
Matt's daughter Danica was the light of his life and they had many fun adventures together. He was very involved in her school, volunteering in the classroom and taking on the role of Mystery Reader. Matt loved spending time in nature hiking, biking, fishing, or enjoying boating at Truman lake with his parents. Growing up he was an active Boy Scout and earned his Eagle Scout in 2000. He was a lover of Halloween and enjoyed hosting parties for friends and family with elaborate costumes and decor. In his free time, he loved playing games and made many friends online and in person to whom he was very loyal. Matt was a helper, always willing to assist others in need, particularly with computer and technology issues.
He is survived by his daughter Danica, parents Gary and Diane, sister Melissa Franzen, brother Cameron Bartlett, paternal grandfather Robert Paden, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
The family would especially like to thank the nursing staff at Advent Health and Hospice House for their excellent, compassionate care of Matt during his illness.
