Barbara A. Lackner, 91, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021. The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 5, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11300 W. 103rd St., Overland Park, KS. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.

Barbara was born May 7, 1929 in Chicago, IL. and was married to Robert Lackner on June 18, 1949.  In 1968 Barbara and Bob moved to Overland Park, KS.  She had worked in food service for the Shawnee Mission School District for 24 years before retiring.  She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where she worked on the  funeral dinners committee and was a volunteer at Catholic Charities.  Barbara had a love of books-especially a good mystery and enjoyed going to her grandchildren's sporting activities.  

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Robert and her daughter Phyllis Hutchins.  Barbara is survived by her daughters and their spouses,  Karen and Scott Grisell, Olathe, KS, Karol and Ed Shartzer, Olathe, KS, son-in-law Jim Hutchins, six grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher Hutchins, Adam and Marisa Shartzer, Megan and Chuck Black, Ashley and Adam Olerich, Michael and Liz Grisell, Jennifer and Eric Nyman and 10 great grandchildren.
