Chalmer (Chief) H. Alcorn Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 59 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri on March 23, 2021 from complications of Covid-19. He left behind a lovely wife Alicia, and two daughters, Cassidy and Destiny after fighting this long and hard battle since January 29, 2021.
Chief was born on September 26, 1961 to Chalmer Alcorn Sr. and Barbara (Coats) Alcorn in Wichita, KS. His siblings include older sister Cindy, and younger siblings Pamela (Pam), Kimberly (Kim), and Eddie.
Chief traveled several places throughout America until finally, he came back to Kansas where he met the love of his life, Alicia Fletcher. While Chief worked as an exterminator, one of the places on his route was Quik Cash in Kansas City, Missouri. Alicia asked Chief out and from their first date they were never apart.
On August 25, 2003 Chief welcomed the second love of his life Cassidy L. Alcorn. Chief knew his family was almost complete. Then, three years later, the missing piece to his puzzle came. The third light of his life arrived on December 2, 2006 and her name was Destiny C. Alcorn.
Although Chief did not want to settle down without a little boy, he knew his three girls were perfect for him. Chief had several jobs before he settled into delivery, so he could still be close to all his girls. But soon, he felt the need to add one more member to his family. He knew he couldn’t have a boy, but he could have a dog. The family already had a cat named Sondra, but he still wanted a dog, so the hunt began. He quickly found the perfect one for him. In the past, Chief had spent time working dog shows with Chow Chow’s he had raised. So the dog he found was a show dog breed. That spoiled little angel that completed his life, and left him surrounded by five girls, was his Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Holly. Now, his life was complete.
It may not seem like Chief’s life was much in this small obituary, but if you ask his family, Chief was a family guy who was hard-working; stubborn; goofy, and so many other words that couldn’t fit in this small space. He even accepted his fate of being outnumbered by girls in his own home. Chief was a very good man, who will be greatly missed by family, friends, and most of all, the Corgi girl he spoiled so much, Holly. Because what they say is true, a dog is a man’s best friend.
