Aug 05, 1935---Feb 26, 2021

Born to Ralph and Norean Williams August 5, 1935, Jack was raised in Hutchinson, Kansas.  His childhood was spent enjoying movie matinees and working in the Williams Furniture Store.  He graduated from the University of Kansas School of Business where he was a proud member of Phi Gamma Delta, then and now.  He completed his ROTC duties in the Army Artillery at Fort Lawton, Oklahoma and later at Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 370. He settled in the Kansas City area after graduation with a position at Columbia Records. He was an entrepreneur at heart and created many businesses, culminating with the opening of Heritage Financial, a leasing company with the best partner ever, Ms. Teri Rhone.

The adventure of a lifetime began in 1974 when he met and married his neighbor in Lenexa, Sharon.  They moved to Lake Quivira and spent their last years in Mission. They were a match made in heaven. She was the Superintendent at Johnson County Parks and Recreation District.  They enjoyed worldwide travel, sailing on their boat “Shenanigan” at Lake Stockton, museums, plays, reading, red wine, friends, family, neighbors and their everyday life.  He loved to hunt and shoot skeet.   Jack enjoyed gardening.  His lawn, flowers and roses brought him numerous “Home of the Month” awards.   He gave the gift of skiing to his entire family.  He was an active member of Good Shephard Catholic Church in Shawnee.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon, mother Norean, father Ralph, his father- and mother-in-law, Robert and Zelma Rush.  He leaves behind his children Tierney Skahill, Durango, CO; David C. Williams, Las Vegas, NV; and Mark Williams and his wife Kelly, Denver, CO.  Grandchildren who will miss their Gramps are Sarah Lien and husband Mike, Nicholas Skahill, Meagan and Kendall Williams.  He also leaves his great grandchildren: twin girls Rae and Wren Lien as well as Scout Finley-Williams, his canine companion Charlie, his buddies at the American Legion and many dear friends too numerous to mention.

Visitation will be from 10-11:00 AM with Funeral Mass following at 11:00 AM Monday, March 1, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 12800 W. 75th St. Shawnee, KS.  In lieu of flowers Jack would like for you to attend or make a donation to one of his favorite places; The KC “Rep”oratory Theatre, The American Legion Post 370 at 7500 W 75th, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art or The Truman Library.
