Marshall Price Ray, 80, of Overland Park, KS passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021. He was born February 7, 1941 in Maceo, KY., to Price and Marjory (Law) Ray.
Marshall graduated from Hill City High School in 1959. He then attended and graduated from Northwest Institute of Medical Laboratory in Minneapolis, MN. Following graduation, he worked at the Harper Hospital as a Supervisor in the Lab and X-Ray Department, and thereafter was the Administrator from 1974-1988 . He also went to Butler Community College, where he obtained his Degree in Nursing. After, he went on to work at Via Christi Hospital, in Wichita, KS, as a Critical Care Nurse. Both Marshall, and his wife Carolin, made a career as traveling nurses, working all across the United States and Guam.
Marshall lived on Lake Avalon, in Bella Vista, AR., for 22 years. He loved photography, birding, hiking, being on the lake and spending time with his family, friends, and neighbors. He often had a slew of jokes for everyone he encountered, as well as lots of trivia knowledge.
Marshall is preceded in death by his parents; and son, Gavin Lane Ray. His loving family he leaves behind includes his wife, Carolin, of the home; daughter, Tonia Bebermeyer (Robbie Hodges); three sons, Jarrett (Heather) Ray, Kyle (Nancy) Ray, and Christian (Christine) Ray; step-son, Kevin (Janet) Nicholas; and step-daughter, Kristin Harding (Ron Scholz); brother, Emerson (Dorothy) Ray; 18 grandchildren/step-grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren/step-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Tuileries Clubhouse, 10801 Glenwood, Overland Park, KS.
