Janet Sylphia Hanson, (Paulson), 91, of Leawood, KS passed away Monday, February 15, 2021. Janet was born December 6, 1929 in Hatton, ND to Sidney and Amy Paulson. Janet grew up in Grand Forks, ND, where she married the late Glen Hanson in December of 1949, a marriage that would last for 70 years. The family eventually relocated to the Kansas City area in 1966, where Glen became familiar to television viewers as an iconic news anchorman at both KMBC and WDAF. Janet was a homemaker and also was a business owner of Jan’s Marble Baths in Overland Park. She loved turquoise, sequins, and she never saw a Beanie Baby she didn’t buy. Janet is survived by three children: Dale (Kathleen) Hanson, Chicago, IL, Cheryl (Michael) Long, Lee’s Summit, MO, Bryan (Janet) Hanson, Charlotte, NC, and grandchildren: Aaron, Bridget, Braden, Davis, and great-grandchildren: Ayden, Oliver, Elon, Isla, and many extended family and friends.
