Kathryn Ann Truman, age 84, of Overland Park, KS passed away February 11, 2021 at St. Luke’s South Hospital, Overland Park, KS following an extended illness.
“Kitty”, as she was affectionately known by family and friends, was born September 30, 1936 in Norwich, CT the treasured daughter of Rodrick and Flora Corbeille Chabotte. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Floyd “Tom” Truman. Also surviving are son, Bryan T. Truman (wife Vicki) of Fairway, KS; daughter, Lori Ackerman (David) of Enola, PA and Carol Truman (sister-in-law) of Florence, AL. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Earle formerly of Omaha, NE.
Kathryn was a talented cook and baker and she operated her own catering service for a number of years. She was a happy person and was most happy when cooking and baking for her family and friends she cherished spending time with. She loved knitting, sewing, reading, craft projects and music. Kathryn was a past Worthy Matron of the Jessie Belle Shonk Eastern Star Lodge in North Charleston, South Carolina.
No memorial services are being planned at this time due to Pandemic concerns and restrictions. Arrangements are being held by the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia Street, Lenexa, KS 66215 where online condolences may be shared. The family suggests memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, be made in her memory to the American Heart Association or Great Plains SPCA, Mission, KS.
