Mary Jane Roewe, 94, Olathe, KS, passed away Wednesday, January 13, at Research Medical Center. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. with the Funeral Mass following at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 21, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 12800 W. 75th St. Shawnee, KS. Jane was born and grew up in St Louis, Missouri. She married Glenn Roewe and they had three children, Linda, Pam and Steve. In 1971, Glenn took a new job and the family moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After enjoying several years in the sun, another job opportunity took Jane and Glenn to Kansas City, where they lived the remainder of their lives.
Jane was a devout Catholic, active in her church, and volunteered with Catholic Charities. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was an avid tennis and bridge player. Intrigued by the stock market, she become a savvy investor in her later years.
Jane was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Glennon Bernard Roewe. She is survived by her daughters, Linda McCool (Martin), Pam Smith (Roger), son Steve Roewe (Annie), grandchildren Courtney Smith-Daviau (Gabriel), Lisa Carter (Shawn), Devin Roewe, and Scott Smith, and her great grandchildren Caleb Carter and Bianca Carter.
