Ralph David Vogt, 92, was born in Joppa IL on March 10, 1927 and passed away on January 6, Ralph is preceded in death by his wife Marillen Hayes, his parents, George Vogt and Tressie Osborne, and his two sisters, Nola and Wilma Vogt.
Ralph helped his father farm until he was drafted in the Army in the Korean War in 1951 where he served as a medic. After the war he moved to Kansas City in 1957 and married Marillen Hayes his wife of 57 years and began a family. Ralph was a devoted provider for his family, a hard worker. He was a quick study and soon became a superior carpenter and built his family their first new house in 1966. He continued his carpentry career, training others and later was recognized for his outstanding restoration work on the Jesse James house in Kearney Mo. He retired from the Local 61 Carpenters union in 1990. Ralph helped build a new church, Gospel Assembly, where he attended and was a faithful member for over 50 years.
He is survived by his two daughters, Sara Vogt and Deborah Vogt (Paul Wallace) and four grandchildren, John Paul Rowe, Ben Rowe, Matthew Wallace, and Rebecca Wallace Holly; and three great grandchildren, Marina Rowe, Charlie Rowe and Daniel Holly.
