My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Such an amazing man that I looked up to and respected. From deep, intellectual debates in high school - to amazing karaoke in the basement - to amazing dinners prepared by Mrs. Kramer - this man shared a love for life and family and taking care of business. He made a strong impression on me and will be sorely missed by all that met him.

To everyone, our sincere condolences, sadness and love for Rick's family and friends. Rick has been my best friend since we were together on the track team in high school 60 years ago. I have seen him recover from some rough teenage years, pull himself together and later pull his entire family together and help everyone. He is a true patriarch. I say is because his spirit lives in the hearts of everyone of us. His unending positive attitude is his great legacy of love for all of us to follow. When I needed him, I would call him up and say "put your hat on doctor I need some help". He was always there with logic and wisdom and a positive take, no matter what. We are all enhanced by his presence, do not let that go. His last words to me on Tuesday "I'm still hanging in there Paul". Y'all keep hanging in there. Lots of love, Paul and Elizabeth.

One of my earliest and fondest memories is of Rick singing “Chantilly Lace” with her pretty face. I hold a visual memory of him from his high school days, dark hair slicked back, leaning over, and wrapped in the song. He always loved a good song. Rick was a hero. He stood up and embraced responsibility when many others would have looked and walked away. He was a good man. My heart is truly heavy. We are so sorry.

To all, I was fortunate to meet Rick many many years ago through my best friend. He commanded respect then as I am sure he had throughout his life. I offer my loyalty, respect Aand condolences for his family and close friends. He made a positive and lasting impact in my life as i am sure he did with everyone he encountered. Physically he has left us but not the love, laughter and respect that he cultivated throughout his life. He has left me a piece of him in my mind and heart, thank you Rick, you are loved. P.S. Rick, in Heaven please sing a song for me, and if you're taking requests..."This Old Flag" by Johnny Cash.

A bright light has gone out in the world. I don’t ever remember seeing Rick without a smile on his face & a good story. We always looked forward to his visits. Whether we were watching him sing karaoke or sharing a delicious meal at one of his favorite restaurants, it was always a party. We were warmly welcomed in his home by Rick, Ann & the boys. Watching Rick & my dad interact you could see genuine love & history with a bit of mischief mixed in. Love & prayers sent out to all of his family. He was a special person indeed.
