Jonanne Rose, 81, Kansas City, KS, died Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the home. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. with the  Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 9,  at the Porter Funeral Home  8535 Monrovia, Lenexa,  KS. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to White Church Christian Church or the Order of DeMolay.
     Jonanne was born December 28, 1939, in Emporia KS and had lived most of her life in Kansas City, KS. She had been a teacher at Whittier Elementary School before retiring to raise her son. Jonanne was a member of White Church Christian Church, Sherman Chapter #8 of the Order of Eastern Star, was a Past Queen of the Daughters of the Nile and was twice a Past President of the Mother's Club of the Delaware Chapter of the Order of DeMolay. She was preceded in death by her son David John Rose in 1997. Jonanne is survived by her husband of 59 years, David G. Rose, and a foster son Marvin Fletcher and his fiancé Rebecca Mock and 3 grandchildren, Sara, David and Heather.

So sorry to hear of Jonanne’s death. I met her when we were in the third grade. We had many years in Campfire, Job’s Daughters and the Wyandot Campers. Will be thinking of you, David.

Dear family, We were saddened to learn of the death of Jonanne. Many years ago we belonged to First Pilgrim Congregational Church along with Jonanne and her huband David. We lost contact after the church closed and was sold. We do have the sweetest memory of Jonanne. She sang so beautifully and with such feeling- " His eyes are on the Sparrow...." at the funeral of one of our members.
