Barbara Jean Fogerson was born on October 15, 1944 to Waid and Lola Fogerson in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was the youngest of nine children. She married Robert Matthis in May of 1963. He died of cancer four years later. In October of 1967 she married Wilmot J. Millham Jr (JR). To that union, two children were born: Mark Jay, and Melanie Jean, who was stillborn at birth. JR died of cancer in March of 1999.
Mark married Lisa Warner in 1994 and gave her two wonderful grandchildren, Kylan Grace and Gabriel Jay.
All of her siblings preceded her in death: brothers Bobby Lee, Austin, Harold, and Lonnie Fogerson, and sisters Jessie Lloyd, Betty Wray, Opal Fornero, and Doris Mason.
She had a stepson, Wilmot J. Millham III, and grandson Abraham in Pennsylvania. She stayed close to them even after JR passed away. She had lots of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. She loved family. She was especially close to Kimberly Collins of Independence, whom she thought of as a daughter, and her family, who she considered grandchildren.
She loved God and her church, Grinter Chapel United Methodist, and her faith never wavered. She served in almost every facet of the church and was president or vice president of the United Methodist Women for twenty years.
She loved to nurture anyone. She would help anyone in need whether it be someone who was ill or an older person who needed a driver. She adored animals, especially her miniature Pinscher named Little Bit.
